[Events](https://knowledge.mobilemind.io/learning-in-mobilemind?hsLang=en#events) # What will I have access to if I was assigned the role of secretary for an event? ## If you have been assigned the role of secretary for an event, you will be able to send updates and check people in. **![secretary](https://knowledge.mobilemind.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Icons/Icon-Title/secretary.png?width=583&height=111&name=secretary.png)** - **Single Event or Session Secretary** will have the ability to send updates, check participants in and expand the join code from the View Page for the session only. - **Conference Secretary** will have the ability to send updates, check participants in and expand the join code from the View Page. When you are assigned as a secretary for any event, you will now see the HQ button from your MobileMind Dashboard. ![1- HQ button](https://knowledge.mobilemind.io/hs-fs/hubfs/Events-%20view%20and%20check%20in/Secretary/1-%20HQ%20button.png?width=688&height=355&name=1-%20HQ%20button.png) When you click that button, you will be taken to your HQ Dashboard where you will see any events where you have been assigned a role of secretary, manager, or presenter. Once you have typed your message, you can choose to send it to everyone that was invited or only those that have indicated they will be attending. To get to the join code, go to the **Participants** **Page** of the event or session. You will see the join code that you can copy and paste or you can click the Expand button to display it on your screen. You can use the filtering options to easily find people that you need to check in manually. You can click the RSVP status buttons or you can filter down more by using the filtering options below that. If someone needed to leave early, you may need to edit their time.
