What are some key terms that MobileMind uses for HQ users?

It is always a great idea to familiarize yourself with key terms that a company uses.

MobileMind Terminology for the Learner

general

Learner- Since not all of the users in MobileMind are certified teachers, we refer to them as learners.

MobileMind Admin- This is anyone that you have given an admin role to in MobileMind. (creator, drafter, reviewer, scheduler, reporter) For more info on roles, click HERE.

Learn Side- This is the side that your learners will see and how they will view their dashboard, access content, register and check in to events, and where they can view and download all of their achievements. For more information on the learner dashboard, click HERE.

HQ Side- This is the side where you will create and review all of your content, create and manage events, run reports, and schedule an HQ coaching session.

Groups- You have the ability to set up groups for your district. You can then make any content visible to just specific groups. For more information on creating and managing groups, click HERE.

Job Titles- When learners are completing their onboarding questions, they will select a job title. You can then make any content visible to just specific job titles. We do NOT recommend using both groups and job titles when doing so.

HQ Dash

Quick Access- If you click the edit button to the right of the Quick Access title, you can add quick access links to what you use most often in MobileMind HQ.

Dashboard Widgets- You have some widgets that you will see on your MobileMind Dashboard. If you have challenges that need to be reviewed, you will see a few of them listed in this widget. You also have a What's New widget that will give you a list of all of our recent updates. If you have any upcoming events that you or any other admins have created, you will see them there. Finally, you have a support widget, where you will see a links to our product tour, scheduling a coaching call, support ticket link, all of our past newsletters, and the FAQ's page (knowledge base).

Find a learner- In the upper left of your screen, you can search for an individual learner. When you click on the name, it will take you to their backpack.

  • Backpack - This is page where your learners will see all of their achievements. There are certificates for Events, Badges, and Learning Paths that learners can view, share with a link, or print. For more information on the learner Backpack, click HERE.

Profile Options- If you click on your profile you have a few options. You can change your job title and your time zone. You have the option to select a reviewer digest frequency. You can choose to get an email daily or weekly to send you an email to let you know if you have challenges that need to be reviewed. The Presenter Bio section is what will show up for any events where you are the presenter. Anyone you add as a presenter in your events will have this option as well.

content

Micro-course - We refer to our courses as micro-courses because we keep our course videos under five minutes and chunk the content, introducing just a few concepts in each one.

Badge - Earning badges allow you (and us) to celebrate your achievements!  These demonstrate competency of a knowledge or a skill. We like to think of badges as a place to hold a small collection of courses. These might be tied to together by a theme, a tool, or could be totally random!

Learning Path - Learning Paths are a themed group of micro-courses designed to give you more structured guidance as you work to achieve particular learning goals. We think if learning paths as a larger collection of courses that are tied together by a theme or a tool. You can link to leaning paths in announcements and you can attach Goals (deadlines) to them. Click HERE to learn more about Goals.

Goal- Your district admins may set a goal that will be attached to particular learning path. You will be expected to complete that learning path by the date they selected. When they create a goal, you can roll your cursor over the learning path card and you will see an "On Track Pace". This will tell you how many minutes/hours you need to work per day or week in order to reach that goal.

  • Goal Deadline- The date you want your learners to complete the learning path.
  • Expiration Date- The date that the goal will disappear from the dashboard.

Announcement- You can create announcements that will be posted on the dashboard on the Learn side. You can choose to have these posted to the dashboard only, emailed only, or both. You will also set an expiration date for when you want it to disappear from the Learn side dashboard.

Categories- You can create your own categories and two subcategories under each one. You can also choose to exclude categories meaning any content in those categories will not be visible for the learners.

  • It is important to note that when you exclude a category, if a course with that category is in a learning path, the learner will never be able to complete that learning path since not all courses are visible. If you run into this problem, please schedule a coaching session so we can walk you through your options.

Review- This is where you will review all of the challenges for courses you have created (and selected the manually reviewed submission type) submitted by your learners.

Submission Types- There are several different types of challenge responses available when you create courses. You can choose to select a submission type that is reviewed automatically as well as ones that you would need to review manually. Below are the options for submission types. For more information on the submission types, click HERE.

  • Automated Review
    • Multiple Choice
    • Poll
    • Quiz
    • Text (Exact words or phrases)

Below you will see a short description of the different types of reports you can run. For more information on the reports, click HERE.
